KBT Transport

Well its friday morning and I am getting new stories now.
Link was not helpful as usual, told me to send an email with my complaint and someone should get back to me Monday. I have had problems before and they do their best not to get involved. They dont want to loose a paying customer.
How do I get the police involved? is there not a criteria before a load is considered stolen and not just in transit?

Thank you for your input, I called the police Monday morning and they said this was a civil matter, but said they would go talk to him. Baveer or what ever his name is was upset the police were called but he phoned his driver while the police were there and told him to deliver our freight first. All 3 drops were off monday late afternoon but because other freight was in the way his driver had to hand bomb some of it. Baveer phones here Tuesday and tries to get extra money. The nerv this guy has. He also didnt understand why were mad and why we called the police, he told us and the police he was doing a good job for us.
I have made a new company policy here, we dont use any new carriers unless they have references from other carriers or load brokers we know and trust.

I am sure KBT would have demanded more money and not delivered until Tuesday had the police not paid them a visit.

Lesson learned STAY AWAY FROM KBT BRAMPTON!!! The police officer that was here also said this is not uncommon and that he has been on other calls like this one, not to KBT but other transport companies but he would not tell me who. He did say that Peel Police have visited KBT in the past but again would not elaborate on why, I'm guessing for threatening. He said that there is a language barrier and they (KBT) uses it to their advantage.

I was one of the reasons the police went to them and it was for threatening !.... I know there are a few others that have went through the same with this company.

After finally delivering our load to AB (10 days late) we informed KBT our client has refused to pay even after accepting the load. Not once did KBT tell the truth during transit. 90 days after delivery KBT sued us. They probably had a strong case however, they failed to show up in court and the judge issued a judgement against them for wasting everyone's time. KBT tried to get a motion for a new trial saying they misplaced the court documents. We then went back to court and the judge advised KBT they would have to pay the original judgement before he would even consider their motion. Well I guess it should'nt surprize us that we still have not heard from them. By the time this is all over the cost to KBT will be near 8 g's.

One more reason I look forward to retirement. Thanks for letting me rant.
 
KBT - Update

Just an update from my earlier post about KBT. These guys took a load from us to Calgary, and long story short, threatened to hold our load hostage until we gave them an extra $1000. We did on the condition they delivered as scheduled. When they delivered 4 days late, we told them they were only getting the original rate minus the late delivery charge from my customer who had to pay a crew to stand around and wait for 4 days.

So now 3 months later, after they had cashed the cheque that we sent them, and after we thought we had heard the last from KBT, we received a fax from them stating that we are being sued in small claims court for the difference in what we had paid them and the ransom they wanted.
Has anyone else been through this with them before? If so would you be willing to provide us a statement? Based on all the posts on here, they obviously have a history of doing this and we are trying to establish that for our defense. Please PM me if you can be of help
 
Kbt trial

Hello All, Don't post much but I can tell you I am going to start as I would never have had yesterday happen if I was posting here and asking your opinions of KBT.

Won the court case outright yesterday. Judge didn't even make me go up to the stand. After the case was over we asked them why they continue to do business like this and the reply was one that you would expect.

"I have many customers that don't want to pay" we did some research on KBT prior to entering the court room and can you believe that they have presently 47 open cases where they are the plaintiff? they do!

we even asked that deep down he knows he is wrong and the answer came back just as you would think. "No I never do wrong, I run business and customers still don't pay"

Well that is my story for the day. The good guys win and hopefully will always win.

Congratulations, but winning the case is one thing and getting your money is another. Hopefully you get more than the judges opinion that they owe you money.

Getting your money is easy if you know that one of their customers owes them money.
I had a situation where the company had no funds in their bank (they were bouncing cheques all over), however, I knew that one of their customers owed them, so I filed for garnishment against that accounts receivable.
It took a while, because their customer was not sure how to handle it, but I did eventually get my $$.
Just thought this would be helpful....hopefully, you do not have to go that route.

To clarify this thread. A shipment was given to KBT going to western cda. After many lies and being 1 week late on delivery KBT finally delivered. Our customer was pissed to say the least. We never paid a dime to KBT so they took us to SCC. The judge awarded us the defendants $3,700 of which $2,700has already been paid. The judge dismissed their case and they (KBT) are now out of pocket for the original freight charges, court costs and a additional $1,000 if we can ever collect, a total of $8,700.00 cdn.

This case goes to show you that Carriers can not do whatever the hell they feel like and get away with it.
 
thats great news !.. i dealt with them on a similiar issue a few years back and didn't pay them.. they threatened me for a year and then dissappeared...

serves em right... LINK needs to remove this company ASAP...
 
If you need their residential address, let me know, as they are trying to get by with only a PO Box on their legal filings.
