This company reached out to us..
Located in Virginia.
Asking to load a flat deck from Oregon to Alberta.

Asked for pictures of their trucks and they ghosted us.

Called the Canadian References on the attached picture. Never heard of them, or never gave them a load... Bad References.

Why do brokers carriers etc even consider using a small US company on loads to Canada. About 99% or more of US Carrier do not even have Canadian running rights and the little ones for the most part could probably not tell you where Canada is on a map. 25 years in teh chair and never ever given an American a load to Canada ever. They sure have started calling but they all seem to sound like the same guy and he is a scammer.

Rob is correct. In my years of doing this, I can count on one hand the number of times a US carrier was even remotely interested in one of my loads coming northbound. Years ago, I hooked up for a short period of time with a large US trucking company who was gung-ho on breaking into the Canadian market. They did a good job and their pricing was in line however after a few months, they simply packed up and returned home. In spite of how massive Canada may be in size, we a just a little drop in the big, huge bucket that represents the US economy.

We actually don't give loads to usa carriers. But when we post on Loadlink we sometimes get shady people messaging us from the deep south, and we are happy to take all of their information. Especially fun when a company is Alabama is trying to pickup in Salmon Arm BC to go to California.. I ask where is the truck? They say at a truck stop. I say great! Please ask the driver to go inside, take a picture of today's newspaper, and then send me a picture of the truck at the truck stop, and send them to me. (They will ghost me every time, or come up with an excuse that the driver is sleeping and will when they wake up, and I guess they never wake up LOL ).

Honestly, I enjoy looking for the red flags, and then sharing with my team, then the inside transport team.

And BTW, our company doesn't use carriers in the usa unless it's a USA to USA shipment. And when we do, we follow our 20 point carrier inspection. Which is pretty detailed and almost impossible to pass by a scammer..

I have heard of these guys before. Haven't worked with them yet. Thanks for the post.
