When JSN Carriers posted 2 Regular Pallets at 2,000 LBS from Devens, MA 01432 to Mississauga, ON we called and booked on it based on the premise that the shipment was “Dock to Dock, Non-Haz, Regular Size Skids, Driver No Touch, No Appointment” according to the recorded phone call with Karen @ JSN.

Our truck got to the shipper and the 2 Regular Pallets turned into 47 Rolls (floor loaded), the freight was booked as 2 skids, and we charged for 2 skids. When it was discovered that the freight was nothing of the sort, we informed JSN what our revised rate would be, supported with pictures of the freight loaded on the truck.

Our rate for 2 skids out of MA is $325, however our rate for 47 rolls of floor loaded and hand-bombed into the truck by our driver, then the rate is $700.

That’s when Karen @ JSN revised the confirm based on the new volume. However immediately after the shipment delivered we received a phone call from JSN Carriers and again they revised back to $325 based on that was the original quote and since we used a straight truck and not a trailer we were at fault.

Upon further investigation JSN had posted this freight on the Load Link after booking this freight through Load Link from a company called SD Services. We thought it was fortunate for us that we got a hold of the original freight broker (based in Vancouver where the freight is ultimately destined) and the owner of SD Services, Steven Dong decided to play dumb and eventually denying that the freight was ever delivered.

We have not received compensation from either company, and would highly recommend staying far away from both.

I'm pretty good at checking on unknown companies we deal with through this glorious website, but that one slipped through the cracks and it's another hard lesson learned.

Seems that there is nothing nice to say about JSN at all.

Edit: At the very least I hope these posts are seen by others here and future potential dealings and can be avoided.

Part of the reason you didn't know: do a search for 'jsn', 'JSN', etc... you will get no results.

When a carrier names is a bunch of initials, includes '&' or '-', you really need to search for something else on insidetransport. Go with an address, unique contact name, etc...

Hope this tip helps you when you get a call from a guy at SMG, B&G, etc... (for example).

Keep well,

Mike

We have an invoice for a load they did from NC - BC on May 2/13 I just checked and it is payable to a factoring CO. How would I find out if this was double brokered ?

best thing to do is get ALL 3 copies of the BOL.

Shipper, carrier, consignee.

Examine for carrier names (and doctoring).

Kinda your only shot after delivery I think...

Keep well,

Mike

don't pay them unless they give you letter indemnifying you and your clients from any other carriers coming after you if they don't pay them. When they did it to me I made them prove they paid ET before I would pay their bill.

Has anyone got any current info on JSN Carriers?
I am having a very hard time getting paid. I was just told they pay 60 days from the day Accounts Payable enters the invoice.
Thank You,
