Has anyone had any dealings with this company? Looking to use them on a full load and want to check on their service.

Save yourself the headache...this guy took a load from me last month, all good with the 'no problem buddy bs'....picked up, delivery appt next day at 9am. Called for an update, told me they were there. Consignee calls at 9:30 saying not there. I call back Jit Pro to check again, he said he would call me right back.... he took the phone off the hook and was never able to reach him again! Had to call the customs broker to track the PARS to see if load was in Canada, have them send me the docs, found drivers cell phone and reached him directly. Some owner operator. Load delivered at 1pm. Still ended up ok, but these guys could cost you a customer for sure, STAY AWAY!

Having a chuckle here not because of what happened but because it's exactly why I chose this username, because I've dealt with so many dispatchers that all tell you "no problem buddy", picked up, delivered, yeah yeah yeah, check's in the mail, driver's on the way. Classic. I've lost track of how many times that has happened to me and probably countless others who are tracking a load and you get that one guy who will tell you anything to get you off the phone.

I also had a bad experience with JIT Pro and it's clear they don't know what they are doing.

From another standpoint, their SAFER profile does suggest that a company that small is probably not a good choice for time-definite or time-sensitive freight. With 4 trucks, if one of them goes down, how will they recover from it? The rule I've adhered to is use companies with 15 trucks at the very least. You might say that's unfair to companies which are smaller who make every effort to be compliant. Again, weigh the costs. Are you willing to gamble with your largest client on the chance that one truck in that small fleet gets stopped that one time with that one shipment that has a compliance fine for your client (and eventually you!) at Wal-Mart or have installers standing around for a whole day? If it's a choice between paying $50 or not, the choice is easy: pay it and use a decent carrier and everyone wins.

My definition of a "decent" carrier? A carrier that takes your freight as seriously as their own, and treats it with respect, which means: communicating when something is about to happen, happened when it shouldn't have, or didn't happen - and is proactive about things. Willing to fix the problem and make it right. I think the problem happens when you get an otherwise decent carrier and it's one or two people who don't give a flying f about anything, whether it's a disgruntled driver or a dispatcher that doesn't care about what they are doing. That can really wreck relationship-building and reputation-building for a carrier that otherwise prides itself on a good safety record and wanting to provide good quality service on a small scale.

Note also their OOS rate. Not good.

I had to rebook my load on short notice and he was the only option. I put aside my die-hard rule of never using any carrier who start off by calling me 'buddy' or 'chief' or 'pal' when they call on the posting... anyway, hope someone else is saved the headache of these jerks!

Thanks to all who replied to our request for info. I can't say enough about how usefull this site is. I think we have all been guilty at one time or another, usually on a Friday, of trying to get that last shipment covered for a good customer and only having one carrier who is close or interested. The temptation is there to give it away and be done with it. That is without a doubt, the most dangerous course of action anyone could take nowadays. It is important for managers/owners, to make sure their dispatchers understand the risk they take by handing off freight to an unknown entity. By using this site, and other checks, we can all be spared the pain and cost of dealing with the "bad apples".
