J.O Express and or Ellas Logistics back solicitation

So I posted a local move and Bert from JO calls. We agree to a price timing etc and send over the load.

About 20 minutes later get a call from my customer that JO / Ellas has been on the phone to him trying to not only cut me out but was willing to cut a rate that is not that great in the first place!

No sooner hang up the phone with my customer and I get an email from JO/ Ellas (they are going by both names) that they will not be able to do the load after all as they do not have power to make it happen. (funny part is they had just finished telling my customer they had quite a few trucks sitting in the yard looking for work).

Me being the politically correct fella that I am reply to their email in my best language as who the hell they think they are. They replied that in the past (long time ago as I have had the customer over 5 years) that they had done the load in the past blah blah and they are sorry. Ya sorry you got caught.

So all said and done I still have my customer. we are all now learning that JO/Ellas are back dooring POS and the world moves on

Once I hear of back soliciting, I really could give a rats a** about their service because I would never, ever in a million years use unethical, lazy scum bags. For crying out loud, grow up and go find your own God Damn customers!! Back soliciting and double brokering...the scourges of our industry.

Hello everyone, this is Bert from JO Express.

I would like to thank the Load Broker who took the time to call me and remind us of the existence of this post. To be frank, I am appalled that something like this has been written about me personally and about the company that I have represented for over 21 years.

We run two companies here, JO Express & Transport Inc. established in 1989. At JO Express we run mostly cross border / out of province truck load and LTL. We depend on load brokers freight as back hauls, our philosophy is that the load link is our sales team to get our owner operators home.

Due to authority & insurance regulations, in 2009 we opened Ellas Logistics Inc. to Complement our 30,000 square foot warehouse that is located in Peterborough. Ellas Logistics only carries local Ontario shipments. Trucks leave Peterborough every day and return that night, local moves only. A big portion of Ellas business comes off the link, brokers are our life blood.

I am not going to jump to defend what Rob has said as my memory of the situation is vague at best since it actually had nothing to do with me and that individual that tried to do the back dooring is no longer with us. However I will defend the Company that I have represented for many years. Both Ellas and JO Express have enjoyed success in this industry by doing good work. When we are assigned a shipment from a load broker we treat the Broker as a client. At both locations, shipper and receiver we represent the load broker by name. All drivers are instructed to introduce themselves as “We are here to pick up for ABC company”. We are so dedicated to this practice that our trucks are only identified with a small door logo saying ELLAS, no phone number, not even our full name. We values the load broker as they get our drivers home with back haul shipments. Why would we bite the hand that feeds us, and not only that but why would we do something that we didn't want done to us? Give respect and get respect, right?

We value each and every load, be it from a direct client or a 3rd party provider. These values have allowed us many years of success in this industry as we treat others the way we like to be treated. For those that know us, for the many brokers that call us again & again this type of post will come as a shock. I have put in over 20 years building my reputation in the industry under the JO Express Banner. I am proud of what we here. As much as this post hurts a small company like us, I have to remind all that this is the one and only negative report on JO Express / Ellas Logistics anywhere you look and our service speaks loud and clear.

If you have anything moving around Ontario, specifically if you are shipping to or from Peterborough, give Ellas a call. If you are stuck in Peterborough as a carrier, we have a shop, yard and warehouse. We are here to help. Your freight is safe with us and we will represent you well, I stake my reputation on it.
