Is the Link down?

they are having some issues in some areas, but are working to fix it

mine went down for 30 minutes, buts up and running again now.. they said its a small problem on their end..

Is anyone else having a problem getting on today? I called and the message says link is having issues.

That being said I need one more outbound load today OH IN to the Dayton OH area if anyone has a load.

seems to be a lot faster than before too!

I doubt that...

I recently got a new computer and the IT guy was switching applications from my old machine to another. He does IT support for 4 or 5 other transportation companies and he mentioned that it's incredible what we put up with from "the link". His comments were basically it's incredibly slow for a web based application and he was shocked beyond words at the cost.

They're pretty much the only game in town (or at least by FAR the most popular) and they know it.

well for us it is now quick to open, before was much slower

we still use the .net version not the browser version

I have to agree with Nawk on this one. We use the web based version and it only updates every 3-4 minutes. I don't understand how the postings cannot come across in real time. I have asked Link and they basically say that is the way it is. I would think for the price, it should be faster.

they are too busy to make it faster - spend time calling the numbers in comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also love how now you can only use it at the office, they block you to use it from different locations - like Saturdays when you could work from home - it's impossible now....................sorry off topic my rant for day :)

they probably base themselves on the fact that people work, call their usual guys, then go to Link.

So unless you are just starring at the Link the real time feature won't help much, we peek at Link so every 3-4 minutes is good.

I'm not trying to be disrepectful of your opinion GRoch, but I think realtime would certainly make a difference. We run a lane that is very busy, and nobody stares at Link all day, but when you hear an alert, you certainly take a peek, and when you call immediately and the freight is covered because somebody else saw it 4 minutes before you did...for the price we pay. I don't think it's unreasonable that they stepped up their service to match their price. Sorry, no more whining about the issue from me today.

In reading over these comments and suggestions regarding Link - I'm curious as to how many people completed and submitted their survey that went around last month.

Victoria at Link sent a brief survey around to customers regarding their services. If you opened up Link mail - you would have seen it. The customer had the opportunity to actually RATE their services and also put in their "2 cents" regarding features and what the customer wanted to see improved or added. It was noted also that Link could not improve their services if they weren't informed what areas required improvements.

You also had a chance to win a Visa gift card for submitting - and taking the time out to do so.

Now just because you completed a survey - doesn't mean you are going to see changes "happen overnight" - or be implemented next day. But if many of you are facing the same disadvantages or issues with Link services - at some point they will need to be addressed and looked into further - survey or no survey....

Don't worry we're just discussing that's fine.

But yes if you don't have too many postings the "ding" for new load/freight being real time might help.

I hadn't thought of that, we turn off the sound, too many postings at once so the "ding" gets annoying.
