Sent mine to waterloo yesterday, got told they are so busy that they will be thursday or friday before they can create invoice, much less get an appointment, any other ideas on which office may be able to help in a timely fashion. I've got two trucks landing this afternoon that I need to get plated and on the road asap.
I had the same thing happen last week in London. Sent my stuff on Monday and was told there is a 5 day turn-around. Got my invoice on Thursday morning and was told no appointments until Friday. Replied with "Okay, book me in for 10:30 AM Friday.". The reply to that was "Contact me Friday morning at 8:30 to book your appointment in case I'm not here.". So I set up an email to go at 8:29 AM Friday. I got a reply to come in at 11:00 AM.
I get what they are doing ... they are sort of working-to-rule, and frankly I don't blame them. In London where we do all our business, there used to be 3 girls doing IRP, now there is 1 doing the same volume of work.
We go to Port Hope and get treated excellent but there is only 1 person doing it and if they are sick or on holidays then it does not get done until they return.
I always go to the Toronto office on Wilson Ave. We seem to get appointments quick and the girls there are very helpful and quick turn around times. Just my 2 cents.
Yes, many jurisdictions have changed their fees. Ontario changed their fees Nov 1, 2015. For more details on the costs you can visit: http://www.irponline.org/page/FeeSchedules
How you ever managed to get through that online renewal process, Hauing_Ass...is beyond me! I gave up after about minutes! It is certainly not user friendly at all! Hat's off to you!

Ha! Ha! It is the WORST online system I have ever used. UN-user friendly! (I should have known. It's the government.) The old school paperwork part was never the problem - it's the day away from the office for the appointment that is the killer. And this online program doesn't change that part. We won't be renewing this way ever again. BAH!
You're right - the concept is great. What would be even better would be if we could do it all online and then pick up our 'package' at a local Service Ontario. They courier stuff around all the time - why not a straight forward IRP renewal?
Tried it last year for renewal and it was awful. Finally determined it was easier to do it by hand. Not sure I want to go through it again this year. I have been ignoring the email about the online system. It seems to be run by one person only and got repetitive message on how to use it this year. Not impressed.
Exactly. If you can renew the sticker for your car online and have it mailed to you, I really don't see why you could not have your IRP sticker mailed out.
Not an IRP, but local ON experience... Originally was planning to order my sticker on-line, but with the Post people strike warning decided to do it right before due date in July.
Went to office with the form they send filled out for one year, but amount was preprinted till the end of this year.
When asked clerk why, she just said it's done by the system and they go by that.
I think they just generate way more revenue with new rates from Jan. 1..
Oh, well...
Apparently they are not mailing out paper renewal packages to companies who had signed up for the online system. I remember seeing an email to that effect. I tried it, it took me a lot longer than just facing the form into the IRP office. If it worked it would be great.
