Just discovered this morning that Intermark Transport in Anjou QC (dispatcher: Yuna) double-brokered a load I gave to them out of Portland OR to World Wide Carriers. I was paying Intermark $3750 and they were paying World Wide $3600. The only reason why I caught it is because our shipper in Portland always faxes us a copy of the PARS to our office and saw the name on the PARS. I happened to be tracking a load World Wide was already doing for me. So when I called Rimple at World Wide, he told me Intermark had posted the load I gave them on Link. So I told him fax me a copy of the confirmation and I will send him a proper confirmation for $3750. I also told him "When Intermark calls to trace this order, tell them to call us..." This ought to be good!

Well, as a follow-up, I sent a cancel notice to Intermark and didn't hear anything so I called Yuna and asked her if she got the cancellation. She said yes. I asked if she knew why and she said the other carrier told her. Her explanation was that "we didn't want to screw you" and "my truck broke down" but, you know, "we have over 100 trucks." I said I see your trucks on the 401 all the time but if her truck truly did break down, you CALL the people you got the load from. Clearly she was lying. I should have checked this site first, actually. I told her we didn't want to do business with them any longer and have blocked them and judging from her non-chalant attitude, I assume I'm not the first person who has called her out on it. Even saw the confirmation she sent to World Wide. Man, what a fax...no customs broker, barely any information to do the job right.

Watch out...

Watch out for those guys...I heard so many horror stories with them !
Be really, really careful. As for us, it's on our DNU list since a couple of years.

I'm trying to find them on my link so I can put a DNU note on them... and I am not finding them... Intermark out of PQ.... ??? hmmmm.. do you guys see them on your link??

Intermark is based out of Anjou pq, they have about 50 us trucks and all reefers. They have a couple of dry van only for local pickups.

I thought that they would have stop the double broking by now but obviously they have not and ... they did not drop the attitude as well.

To all be careful with them... The reefer business to California is no longer a Klondike with the resent us currency value.

Double broker

Just caught them trying to double broker me a load from an american freightbroker. I was called by this US broker and asked them how they found me. I was weray because I could not see them. They are on DAT which In do not have.
A few minutes later I call Intermark and enquire about a posting listed from another city. It turns out it was the same load.

I deal with a lot of US companies, do not hesitate to contact me if you want info & I'll see what I can find for you :)

Feedback

Never had any problems with Intermark. They pay their bills in comparison to other companies.

Intermark that one is too funny

Are you Jenny from Intermark's Anjou location?

Why Jenny have you awaken this lead that was sleeping.

If you are Jenny at Intermark this was not a very good idea.

Double brokering has nothing to do with paying bills - it is just not ethical.

I love the comment they "pay their bills in comparison to other companies" what does that mean?

pay their bills

Explain that to a small company when they paid their bills that some people take big money for a load and give back the same load for cheap price ... wow that's the best situation I heard...example: give a load at $750.00 to go from Montreal to Boston, Ma when they have from a U.S. broker $1050.00 is that fair....but yes they pay their bills...transport industry is sick.

As a carrier we can say no to trash-freight . Nobody forces us to deal with these questionable brokers that double broker. By dealing with such companies you become part of the problem. With many of the older dispatchers and drivers retiring, I don't see the problem getting resolved anytime soon. When the exchange rate was 1.60 a few years back, these people were laughing all the way to the bank. They are still doing it and as far as I can see, it's always the same ones. Make a list , check it twice and use some common sense.
