Could anyone advise on a shipment of empty totes from Canada to the US.
Do I need an ACE manifest?
If so, it asks on which bond it will cross. I am not a US bonded carrier...
Do I need a broker entry?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I do this a lot here because we do automotive. The answer is yes. I use the CBP ACE portal. All you do is specify the driver, conveyance, eta at border and equipment then click whether it IIT's are covered by your bond or the importer (if it's automotive, it's the importer.) You don't need to use a PAPS sticker either or show shipper and consignee in shipment details, or quantities. I make up a special # that involves the BOL or waybill #. You don't need to fax anything to a broker either. Print out the ACE manifest, give it to the driver and that's it. Not sure what system you use.

Thank you.
I get to input the ACE myself- since we are primarily a flatbed carrier I have never had this problem before.

Sorry . Need help on this topic again:(

So I don't need to show shipment info? Just manifest?
I am a newby at these IIT's!!!

Hi, I can help. You don't use a PAPS sticker or fax to a broker. Just do a manifest showing that it's IIT's and show your unit #, trailer #, driver info and so on, but you don't need to put in the shipper and consignee. If you're using the CBP ACE portal, you'll see a box that mentions IIT's when you're entering your ACE. Then just print off your ACE manifest sheet and give it to the driver. No transaction number required.
