As of July 1st diesel in Indiana increased 31 cents per gallon.
According to one article I read, the increase is partly due to less fuel/gas tax revenue because of more fuel-efficient vehicles. Ya right....

Anyway, do any of you think this will have an effect on rates? Should it? Are we now going to have a "midwest premium" when quoting rates?

How about just don't buy fuel in IN. Or only enough to justify the miles you run in IN. Was the increase solely in the tax component of the pump price?

I thought it was 10 cents.. 31 cents? No point in a midwest premium.. other states across the union are considering the same hike. I guess the good news is that most or all of it will be used specifically for infrastructure upgrades and repair.

IFTA ensures you pay whether you buy fuel in the state or not.. if you run in IN then the tax ( and tax increase) is apportioned through IFTA. But aren't they repealing the 7% sales tax on diesel as well? I thought that was part of the deal..would be a nice break if you do buy fuel in the state..

Gasoline is increasing 10 cents per gallon and diesel is 31 cents per gallon. I'm pretty sure IFTA will go up as well but I haven't been able to find any info on that yet. I guess we'll find out next quarter!
