I like how they admit in the article that nobody really knows deep down what the statistics mean. The knee-jerk reaction would be to assume that if a big truck is on the scene of a fatal crash, the truck was the cause. The statistics would be more meaningful if they attributed the cause of the increase to some kind of behaviour or conditions that created the fatal crashes.
