A rant/thought triggered by the VPA thread

All of us are aware of the so called "three complaints to Link and your out" policy, yet when you call to complain you are told that you are the first or the second. Has anyone ever been told they are the third?

Just curious.....

I have been one of the three strikes twice. When they finally get on top of their clients it works great. After 4 months of B.S. once they shut rush down I had a check dropped off at my door in two hours.
If you're suggesting when they say three complaints they really mean ten I wouldn't argue with you.

Link clients I have lodged complaints with, and the Link response-

Bob Canada- They have no ther records on file, I am the first.

Tier One- They have no ther records on file, I am the first.

Punu Transport- They have no ther records on file, I am the first.

I know for a fact, from information on this forum, that I am not the first to complain in any of these situations! Yet Link always has the same response. "We will monitor them and if they get 2 more complaints we will act accordingly".

Well now I believe that they are only in it for their benefit. As long as they get paid from these guys, they don't expel very much energy to assure that we the carriers get paid too.

Link

I personally know that many of the bad actors that Link have booted off:

(1) Cry and threaten to sue to get back on and

(2) Get on with Load Surfer with no quetsions asked

If anyone here uses LS, be very cautious with "parties" that show up there but not on Link

Just remember that LINK is in it to make money for themselves too. We still use it, even if there are scum bags on there. I understand that the LINK *should* only be as good as the community that makes it up, however, sometimes we have to take matters into our own hands. That's why we have this forum!

On a side note.... *looks for the VPA rant*

The Link

I have personally found the LINK to be very helpful, when I complain about unpaid invoices. They have helped me out with many collections.
If you feel that you are getting the run around, ask for Jane. She is very helpful.:o

Link is horrible in dealing with complaints. They were horrible 6 years ago when I worked there and from what I hear even worse now. They are all about money, and if they boot people off that means less money for them! That will never change as long as they monopolize the freight matching services

Call me stupid or whatever... but where is this VPA thread? I need a good laugh. Every time I call there looking for an answer on payment, it gets out of hand -- I think the $6500 they owe me is better invested in a Yuk's Yuk's performance rather than them; although both are quite humorous.

I think the clue that Link has "no record" is that I am positive these companies, like Punu and BOB Canada, etc, actually are the numbered companies you see at the very top of the member listing. I am currently using the web version of Link where I am and as I recall, I think you can put anything for a company name on Link. Link's records will likely reflect to the corporation and operating authorities you gave them to establish your account - the DBA name game is what these cats are playing. My suggestion: keep an eye on the top of the list for strange new numbered companies with familiar names like Ricky and Sam and so on. They will surely morph into the next new flash in the pan carrier that will start calling you.
