Received this notice from NTBA today. This appears to be same character behind “Bell & Bob Transport” (Jerry Hundal)
Reported by a freight broker

I would like to report a serious situation we have encountered with a carrier that we booked on Load Link.

On Friday September 25, we had a client in the GTA who needed a few skids in Florida by Sunday September 27th. We booked the freight as a truckload with a carrier on Load Link called Hundal Transportation with a dispatcher there who called himself Jad, who we believe is the owner. To start, the truck did not arrive for pick up on Friday however, they did recover by picking up early on Saturday morning and ensuring that there was a team on it so it would arrive Sunday afternoon. After follow up early on Sunday morning at 10:00am, we were told by Jad that the truck was in Rock Hill, SC and the freight would arrive around 6pm on Sunday afternoon. After dozens of phone calls with no answers we finally heard back from Jad at 3:00pm stating that the truck was in Ackworth, GA and the new ETA was for 10:00pm . At 9:00pm, we received information that the truck was in Brunswick,GA which now puts the ETA at 1:00am on Monday. During this time, this was a jobsite and a crew was patiently waiting to install this freight.

At this time, we asked him for the PAPS number. When we looked it up online, it showed that the shipment had not cleared customs or crossed the border. When we questioned Jad about this, he insisted that the truck was in the U.S. and that was a mistake on the website. At this point we were of course leary of his excuse but we could not check the details with the customs broker until Monday.

We told the receivers and trusted the following morning the truck would have been there an gone. Again, to our dismay, we found out from the receiver that the truck was not there. We again made several attempts to contact Jad, I must also add that every time we did finally connect, he would make an excuse to call us back and never would, nor did he have any voicemail. Once I got a hold of Jad again, not to my surprise, he told us the truck had a breakdown the night before in Jacksonville, FL. He said not to worry, they would be on the road again around noon and would be in Florida at the delivery point by 6:00pm Monday. 6:00pm went by and not to our surprise, no update. After more phone calls and texts, Jad told us the truck would be there shortly and it was 6 miles away. We called the receiver who started to drive towards the jobsite. After a few minutes, Jad texted us stating he made a mistake, the truck was actually 60 miles away! He told us that the new eta was now 8:30pm on Monday and promised to call at 8:30pm. After more phone calls, we finally got a hold of him again at 9:30pm and he said he was just checking with the drivers. He texted us at 10:30pm stating the truck was 8 miles away. We contacted the receiver and told him again that the truck was almost there.

We received a call early this morning from the receiver stating that he was up all night and the truck never arrived. We then contacted Jad letting him know that if he did not tell us where the freight was by 10:00am EST on Monday January 29, 2013, we would contact the authorities and all the transport associations to notify them of his crooked dealings. 10:00am came and went and nothing. He made some attempts to text us to tell us he is working on it and the truck would be there soon. His statements obviously hold no merit so we have proceeded to contact the authorities and associations such as yourselves.

Just curious did customer ever receive the freight or did they sell/steal it. That is my first concern when it comes to the cheapest carrier, when brokers are fishin they look for cheapest not reliable. Remember the good carriers charge more for a reason BECAUSE WE'RE WORTH IT.

Are you able to physically show up at this Hundal Tansports office? WOW, the crap that goes on, but I agree, you pay for what you get....bad unreliable services....well most of the time, depends on the relationship between both parties. I refuse to use the LINK!

We paid $3,000? I don't think that is a bottom basement price for the load. We had cheaper options but did pay more. We do value our good carriers and called them all first but in this case they where all booked and our client was in a panic on a Friday afternoon. It's the exact situation this guy pray's on consistently. We've learned the hard way and will be more diligent in our checking of carriers. Thanks for everyone's help and feedback.

Definitely not bargain basement ...

Hey, when I had the problem with him it was from a load from LA that I was paying $6000 for.

I don't disagree that the lowest price sometimes comes with caveats, but in many cases the high priced ones are no better. I can name a few others that would fit this same bill.

$3000 is a little light for an team expedite to FL. But rate isn't the issue here it's too bad you didn't see these posts before you booked the load with them.

Does anybody have any recent dealings with this company? Still waiting on credit references from this company; and concerned about what we are reading on this thread so far. Any updated info would be appreciated. (Us as a carrier dealing with Hundal as a broker)

If they are the same as Bell and Bob....everything I've seen I would never deal with them.

As an independent O/O and a partner in EZ Truckin, I feel sorry of what happened to Allfreight. Moving freight on the CHEAP will always get you into trouble when you want an express service. We provide the service, we run with a quarter or half load when necessary, we will not jeopardize delivery time for the sake of making more money. We have been running TEAM for 3 years and we're building our reputation on Expedited service.

If you want good service, look us up on the Link and we will see if we can help at the time you need it. We can provide references.

Reminder to the customers who like to get the bottom price, you get what you pay for....

Cheers

I agree 100% with Candy_7777 you get what you pay for I don't haul cheap freight some times I had to bring my trucks running team back empty cause I won't haul for cheap but again if I took load for peanuts once then most likely it will haunt me forever.
