Hey guys just wanted to see if anybody wanted to chime in on what pay rates are like nowadays for drivers? Up / down / same ?

Is work available or guys sitting at the yard half the time?

$/Mile
$/Pickup + Delivery
Layover
Waiting Time

Cheers

Driver pay

A great deal more information is required.
the greater the distance the lower the pay per mile.

Any good driver based out of Montreal will get a net pay and this is after all tax deductions of at least $1000.00 / week.
There are several combinations of expense allocations and bonuses paid in this.

Also your driver will expect to be home week ends.

I would worry about a driver that will work for less.

Incorporated drivers are another story and I would be reluctant to use them as you may end up hanging with deduction at source bills and fines for them not having paid income taxes.

Our pay rates have not changed they would make between $60,000 to $72,000 per year. We cannot hire enough professional drivers we are running our guys ragged and still would like to add 4 or 5 good professional drivers. Lots of bad drivers out there but not to many good ones, I think a lot have left the industry.

At one point, "back in the day" I drove extended City for what amounted to $12.73/hr or roughly $26k/year.....don't poke fun now! LOL...just saying things have changed in 15 years...or so...LOL
