Holding Loads Hostage

Rob is correct, if this was how they conduct business, they wouldn't have any customers. What have you done to cause them to fear not being paid in full?

Keep well,
Mike

I wish we had a set up where both sides could tell their story and we get to vote.
Basically, that is what this site offers - although we don't make the vote official. Everyone makes up their own mind based on the information provided. Both sides should tell their story but sometimes the absence of one side of the story usually seals the fate.

Save yourself some headaches and eliminate this company from your database. They held ransom our load too and delivered 3 days late because they are in conflict with their factoring. We had a special communication with factoring that we were allowed for our case to pay them direct, in advance. Factoring mentioned we were the 4th broker to call in recently with this ransom situation. Do not pay them unless you have clearance from Factoring or you will end up paying twice.

Years ago I had a load held hostage…my one and only. The carrier discovered, after picking up my load, that their factoring company wouldn’t approve me (I was only 3 months in business at that point)... they got spooked and wanted payment from me prior to load delivery. After some unpleasant back and forth I called their insurance and reported the load stolen. Long and short, they delivered the load and I paid the carrier within seven days. If in doubt call the insurance and report the load stolen, missing, lost etc..gets the ball rolling real fast.
