Here's what I think ...

We are having tremendous success with the all-Detroit drive line, so we're buying Freightliner New Cascadia, and Western Star 5700XE. Bottom line is I get great fuel mileage out of them, and my driver's are super comfortable in them.
My friend at Volvo Corporate keeps trying to convince me to try their offering. I'm sure I'll lose a bet one day and end up with some. I haven't heard anything bad about them.
Of course it goes without saying that whatever brand you buy there are going to be lemons. As long as they are not all lemons, and you get great OEM and dealer support, you should be okay.
Support is where the Peterbilt brand falls short. OEM support is nonexistent and only a handful of dealerships go the extra mile. For the places I run I can only count on Cervus Peterbilt's Hagersville branch and Hunter Peterbilt in the US.

I thought so ... we used to have one here. Straight stacks, no mufflers and the driver used to be able to hit all 20 gears between here and the two miles to town ... Used to drive the neighbours nuts ... LOL
