Just wanted to send a little note to my friends and colleagues on Inside Transport. We are so lucky to have a great community on this forum. One which has built up over many years of trials, tribulations, honesty and success.

I'm proud to be a part of this. I look forward to what 2017 may bring to the transportation industry I've come to love and respect.

I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season...A Merry Christmas...and quality time spent away from work with the friends and family we love.

All the best to "Trucking 2017" - for each and every one of us.

I too, would like to express my best wishes for the Holidays to everyone on the IT site. Especially to those carriers who have drivers presently under our loads, including the ones loading tomorrow, who will then be hard pressed to make it back to their homes before St. Nick arrives, late Saturday night. Your dedication to our industry and commitment to service does not go unnoticed.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to everyone. I would like to invite you all to take a little time to get silly. Get down there on the floor and let yourselves be kids for a little while. Enjoy your families. Help the children make that unforgettably useless toy with the empty boxes (it's MacGyver time) be safe

Be filled with tons of laughter and love!

And enjoy these memorable days to the fullest!!
Season’s Greetings and Holidays Wishes!

While it was taken last year, this embodies Christmas, does it not? At least the commercialism side: The tree, Santa, my Christmas suit and the gift of vodka. My secret Santa always knows just what to get.

On a more serious note: Christmas is about the coming of Jesus (if you believe) and also very much about enjoying some time with your loved ones and spoiling the little ones.
For all members and visitors:
A very safe and happy travels to you and yours this holiday season and all the best in 2018! Remember the people that you've had Christmas with in the past who aren't here now (they like to be remembered). If you drink the special eggnog remember not to drive.

God bless and keep well,
Mike

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years. I'm throwing this announcement in for all the carriers that cross the border, a present for 2018.

Truck Turnaround for Major ACI AMPS Penalties Extended
(December 22, 2017) – The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) was notified by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) the truck turnaround option for major ACI AMPS penalties, will be extended until December 31, 2018 in the highway mode.
This will be the second extension of the truck turnaround, which was first put in place June of this year. The turnaround option allows carriers to avoid costly monetary penalties for failure to submit ACI data by allowing a truck driver to return to the U.S. and submit their paperwork before entering Canada.
“CTA feels this is a great story of industry and government working together to implement practical changes that work,” says CTA’s director of policy and industry awareness programs, Lak Shoan. “CTA would like to thank CBSA for their ongoing commitment to work with our sector.”
The joint CBSA/CTA AMPS committee has been working on implementing several different options that would help alleviate carriers’ concerns regarding costly monetary penalties, including the introduction of volumetrics, and additional benefits for trusted trader members.
“With the agency moving toward using more data, analytics and technology to improve the movement of goods and compliance, the use of volumetrics seems like a logical next step,” says Shoan.
