Power Groupe - 1221 - 32nd Avenue - Lachine - 514-422-1122

Zero communication - left numerous messages/faxes for A/P. Found out owner - Roula - is payables. Never comes to phone or gets back to you.

Anyone else deal with this company? Having communication issues?
 
There is another delinquant broker out there everyone should be made aware of. Power Groupe based in Lachine, Quebec. Invoice from december still unpaid. I will be reporting them to equifax and have already forwarded this information to loadlink. It has been a real challenge to say the least to get paid, with our expenses in the trucking industry, there is no reason it should take almost 3 months to get paid.

Slow payer

We have also dealt with them, very slow at paying , I beleive over 90 days , although we did actually get paid.
I would not deal with them again!!

Send me a PM - I might be able to assist you with this one. I had to go thru their customer to get paid. Might be able to give you a contact name if load details similar. Was a very quick resolution after going that route...
 
Had similar problems with them. Invoices from August 2009 were paid in September 2009. We did collect all amounts owing though
 
I found Power Groupe to be kind of fishy a couple of years ago. I think they just double-broker stuff because back in 2006, they took some loads out of Pembroke going to Montreal and not only was it the worst service, but even back then it seemed like they couldn't answer straightforward questions about where their trucks were.
 
I finally got the check. What a relief. Who needs the stress nowadays, getting paid should never be this difficult.
 
Very slow paying and we to could not get a call back...Roula has promised to pay and we have not received anything...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...you will be wasting lots of time trying to collect your money!
 
I know Synergy used them for a bit and they still post loads to and from Lachine so they could still be using them, 2 slow payers put together...not good.
 
Power Groupe

It is the first time we do business with Power Groupe and trust me it will be the last. We are calling the accounts payables to get paid and imagine our check is in the mail since 2 weeks now...we are not that far from Lachine...We keep calling we talked to almost everyone there and the only thing they do is telling lies. Please, don't waste your time and don't use that company. If you do, you will need to call them so many times before you get paid. We have no choice at this point...we will need to call their client. :mad:

My name is Stephane and I work the dock at Power groupe. I know these are legitimate complaints you all have here, but let me try to clear up a few things.

I only got hired in september, and there was a lot of sh*t happening there. I believe the owners are good people who struggled their few first years because mainly of their ignorance of the business (my own opinion).

I do believe the MAIN problem there is Tania, who is the operations manager. She has been in the business a long time (so she says) and is very shady to say the least. She lies, screams and tries to put the blame on the shipping/receiving end. I caught her several times in the act and gave the owners proof that she lied.

Anyways, we on the dock have more than 25 years experience each on the day shift (5am to 1pm) and thrive on a job well done. We have now much less claims and have been on time to most appointments.

Please be aware of that when you dish Power, because we have NOTHING to do with payables.

This is the "Bad Payer" section of the forum. I didn't read anywhere that the guys on their dock aren't doing a good job. And I guess as long as you get your paycheck everything in your world is fine. The complaint here is that the company that you work for isn't paying their bills in a timely fashion.

Please be aware of that the next time you tell people what a great company you work for...
 
I will "second" your reply Nawk.

Nice of the warehouse staff to join the forum and post about what a good job they are doing for a "delinquent outfit" - but this certainly is not the venue to do so.

Stephane - Power Groupe has been stinging companies for money for quite some time. I would be very concerned if I were you - obviously taking pride in your work - that come payday - you will one day be burned also. I certainly hope this isn't the case.

If you were hoping to clear Power Groupe's bad name in the industry with your post - you are sadly mistaken. You can remind Roula of the ol' adage - "actions speak louder than words".
 
Warehouse staff

I would recommend they print out the comments on this forum and hand over a copy to their management . They in turn will probably not give a hoot.

Best policy is just to avoid them and add comments to this thread for others to be overwhelmed by the preponderance of negative comments.

Good try by the warehouse staff. If you are Montreal based and need some staff , you may be calling this fellow soon!!
 
I understand the frustration here....if they burned me for my money I'd be all over them too.

I am not trying to clear their names. I frankly don't care, as long as the cheques keep clearing. I knew of them before I went to them. Told them that if EVER that was the case (stiffing me) there will be metal bars thru rads and air hoses cut all over the place.....and by now they know I will not hesitate lol.

However I DO take great pride in my work, and thrive on getting live loads and cross-dockings done and on the road so brokers coming to our door can at least say they had a pleasent experience.

Again, I will say that yes, they may have stiffed a lot of peeps, but I still believe that most of it was due to being a small company in a sea of transporters and lack of knowledge of the business on their part (Nat and Roula). They didnt think that the trucking industry is so close-knitted, and made mistakes.

Anyhooo.... I'm always looking to better my situation so I guess I'm open to offers lol.
 
I'm not sure I follow your attitude guys...

All I'm saying is that if they screw me, they won't get away with it.

What's with the attitude comments??

I have a great attitude, just dont fu*k with my bank account.

I will ALWAYS lean on the side of the drivers, and that is why I get them on the road fast, because that's where the money is.
