This guy runs the truck around for a day and a half to multiple Melon Sheds to find his melons.
After having to call him repeatedly, I am finally told there is no freight to pickup.

I only ask for a TONU and the guy refuses to pay it.

You need to invoice for the TONU - and then go from there - have all the proof - Rate Con...your truck was dispatched and moved to the shipper

I collected TONU (not from this shipper another one) - sent rate con, my driver's dispatch, invoice, driver logs showing truck moving to shipper (with all personal info blacked out)

• You have a signed load confirmation.
• You were dispatched to the pick-up location.
• Your truck rolled toward or to the pick-up location.
• You invoiced the broker for TONU and it has been at least 15 days and you have not received payment.
• Note: The industry standard for TONU is $250 however this amount can be lower or higher depending on the circumstances or unless otherwise agreed to in writing

Melon loads are a pain, hard to collect anything on them when things go south. They are like playing cards, gotta know when to hold 'em, and when to fold 'em.

Where did you get this industry standard amount? Is there a published book that I don't know about that I should be referencing?? Are there other industry standard amounts that we all should be applying?

Yes, I am being facetious because there are no industry standards. Making this comment and marking it in bold makes it sound like you have authority on the issue but in fact it is farther from the truth. Just the comment 'however this amount can be lower or higher' proves that it is not a standard but an oxymoronic statement.
