The rack rate for diesel fuel prices in Ontario has been consistently rising and now at a level that was not seen since August. With the horrible rates being offered to carriers by everyone I would imagine that the squeeze is going to manifest itself further. You'll hear of more carriers being pushed out of the market or they'll stop paying more of their Drivers(INC.). It's at the point where it has to be one or the other. They are already not repairing their equipment and overextending their payables to the loads they (double)broker out.

For the politically correct individuals reading this you can just ignore the stuff in the brackets.

Let's look at this on a different angle. If anyone should be fighting the battle against driver inc. shouldn't it be the companies who use EDIT: "labour that may or may not come from differing socioeconmic conditions" < call it what you want to call it, its not limited to one specific region either.

Here is an example; 3 companies;
1) Driver Inc Company
2) Specific Demographic Company
3) Ol' whiteys transport.

Now, if we get rid of 1) from the market - who do you think fills that void price wise. Of course there is purchasing power/fleet size/ fuel Volume blah blah blah. So really shouldn't company 2 - be leading the way and wanting to fight as much as possible to get rid of company 1 and their setup?

Yet here we are... could use some additional voices to the fight.

If you dont have your real company name next to your name....you do not matter.
Stop hiding and come out with your real company names and lets see who puts who on DNU.
as far as imported labour is concerned, they got here when canadian governtment opened the doors for people to work, because more than half of canada was hiding at home waiting for toilet paper, while these imported people did amazon, uber, store delivires, worked at fast food joints, delivered pizza.... to your house so you dont die from covid.

Lol you know who I am, yet when prompted - you can't seem to tell me who you are? So please, off the cross we need the wood.

You missed the whole point of my post to you. You should be leading the way, Canadian Flatbeds should be out there fighting the cause - the loudest voice! because you probably have some of the most to gain.

Cute revisionist history though.

We do not care if drive inc runs or stops,
We offer both models and have employees that take either or. This is government’s job to stop, if we pay 50 different kinds of taxes what is another another tax, we will pass it on to the customer in rate increases
And I do not care who knows you here and who doesn’t!!
We are just tired of your hypocritical nonsense!!! Most of the OTA and CTA companies that are crying about drive inc broker freight to drive inc companies through their broker models, don’t you think smart brokers here know that?
I’m calling it for what it is,
Stop drive inc today!! We will still beat you pound for pound.

Wait, are you saying you offer both models of pay to your drivers? Ie - employees or driver Inc?
I'm confused, maybe its all the exclamation marks or the sentence structure.

Haha- you know what I said.
But I will explain again because some people are not too smart- We have drivers that get paid on corporation and we have drivers that take the payroll model.
This is government’s job to enforce not my job.
The big question is why are these so called legacy companies giving freight to trucking companies knowing they run Drive inc model???
The problem is you do not have an answer to my allegations and what about imported labour you were talking about?( I know imported labour also delivered to your house but you were quite then because you needed shit delivered to your house) UNGRATEFUL.
And what about legacy companies running teams to get your lettuce or baby carrots from
California? Give me some names.
You still haven’t given your company name, come on let’s see who else is putting us on DNU.

Now do those drivers who are on corporate pay - do they own a truck? Or do they ride in company equipment. You're smart, you know what I'm asking.

You're not even in my DNU.. I know this, because I'm dealing with a claim on a load you did for me today:) Check your private messages you know who I am because I told you, you've yet to tell me though.

Thanks for the carrots though!

Oh you again!! You couldn’t afford to put me on DNU. I dare you LMAO.
Come on get off this and go home!! You got kids to play with, and the people you are fighting for here are close to retiring or retired, enjoying their life in hot places with all the money they have saved from being creative with their own tax fillings. And here you are talking bullshit.

My reply to our friend in DM- just for our friends here to see.
“Imported people??? Come on man!! If you are not native we are all imported, have some respect for the people you work with man, you work with us, are we imported people to you? If this is how you are going to behave bro? Put us on DNU. We don’t need your business. Enough is enough”

I'll tell ya what, just for you - I will change the term and edit the above. (For the record I said imported labour - which if you immigrated here and got a job, would that not technically be imported labour?)

"labour that may or may not come from differing socioeconmic conditions" is my new phrase, hope it works for you.

We should all be working to bring the labour up and not suppress wages. People should be raised up as they come into this country to the quality of living not taken advantage of(mostly from a similiar socioeconomic status or country of origin) because to them, this is better than what it used to be.

I don't know what you pay, I don't care to know - it's not about you as an individual or a specific company it's about the state of this industry and country.

This isn't the gotcha moment you think it is, I stand by what I say and my perspective.....but if you think you're upset, wait til the whites find out I called them whiteys.

Mike's gonna shut this down in the AM so all the best who ever you are.

It’s just the market..three short years ago the rates were sky high. I was paying $2000.00 for a standard flatbed from Belpre, OH to Tillsonburg. Carriers were quoting $4000.00 for a box van from Cincinnati to Toronto. From a sales standpoint I prefer those heady days..shippers needed good vendors, and it was actually possible to get them on the phone… now? not so much..Let’s hang in there..it’s always darkest before dawn.
