Hi,

Can someone explain the freight market to me like I'm five?

I'm getting quotes of CAD 5,500 for Vaughan–Michigan for Conestoga and CAD 6,200 for 4 skids space from Laredo to Edmonton when we call regular carrier on this lanes.
Posted but it's radio silence.
So apparently rates are premium, demand is weak, and nobody's calling.
Is this a freight market or a social experiment?

Well,

Tell us more about the Vaughan to Michigan. If it's going to northern Michigan you're being charged a rounder. Or it's also possible there's not a lot of demand coming back from your destination for that type of equipment, in which case you're also being charged a rounder.

The TX - AB, has to have some kind of special circumstance or handling required, if not just bring it to the GTA then rail it to your receiver if you're looking to save a buck.

Hope you get them both booked up,
Mike

FB market is extremely hot.

People can be very picky with who the work with. You are likely not a broker of choice unfortunately if someone gave you 4 skids at $6200.

That's exactly what we did! It was certainly worth every ounce of work put in.
