Freight Link Express

Late payment.

I called the receiver and they specifically said that they are moving the freight with Anito at Flex Freight. This time it is legit. I will have to make sure I stay on top of them for payment.
Things don't look so good. I have one invoice outstanding from Oct 21. I spoke to Tino on Thursday and he promised the cheque will be in the mail on Friday with the additional finance charge to clear up the account.

Should I be worried? He didn't even balk at the finance charge, he just said that he'd pay that right away.

I will call on Monday to see if the cheque went out otherwise I will call the receiver who told me that she specifically is using Flex Freight.
 
I finally got paid for my Oct 21 invoice. I called them one last time on Feb 6 and spoke to Prit. She had to take a message, which I have left numerous ones and none have been returned, and I said that if I didn't get a call back by the end of business today that I would be persuing it with collections. I never got a call so at 9am on the 7th I called the receiver and obviously spoke to the right person. He told me I would have an answer within 10 minutes. 30 seconds after hanging up the phone I got a call from Annito who told me he would direct deposit my money right away. He said that he has had some personnel issues and this invoice obviously got overlooked.

I gave him my bank information and the invoice plus the finance charges were paid overnight/direct deposit just like Annito said it would. I called the receiver and thanked him for getting involved, that everything was paid up to date and no money was outanding. I also e-mailed the same to Annito.

I only wish that if it was just an invoice oversight why wouldn't someone just call back in response to the one of the numerous messages I left and take care of it? Why did I have to threaten with collections and then make more phone calls to the receiver? Why do I have to wait 105 days to get paid? My only presumption is that I think they were hoping I'd give up before them. I have them in our system as COD for now. It'll save me the hassle.
 
With regards to the statement below: why is that one can always come up with the excuse "personal issues" to avoid paying their carriers....if thats the case then is everything else that has to get done in the companys daily function being overlooked as well? OH COME ON WHAT A LAME EXCUSE.

I had to reread this post a few times. I believe Jim L was saying "personnel issues" as in staffing issues. I have heard the personal issues excuse as well. Not to say either is a real excuse! Not sure which one is worse than the other...
 
OH Chica123....YOU are correct, I just read that over.....OK, well in my opinion its still not ethical to blame "personnel" or "personal" reasons why you have overlooked paying your carriers.....obviously they didnt "overlook" booking the load with the carrier.
 
Freight Link Express = Flex Freight. 2 different trade names.

Check the other forums on this stuff guys. The only personnel problem they have is that the person paying the bills keeps quitting because there's no money to pay. Red flag!

Hi Maggs. I don't think they are either very good excuses either. I'm sure their "personnel" would have been all over a late delivery or other service failure! But when the mistake is on their side, I guess it's ok.
