This article should be a must read for all freight brokers, whether independent, stand alone brokerages, or brokerage divisions of asset based carriers. It is all to easy to ignore the rules and all of the possible “what ifs” when things are going smoothly. Nothing can bring even the toughest independent business person to their knees faster than looking down the barrel of a multi million dollar lawsuit brought by a large US law firm with a 201 area code.
