Former O/O of the Year award winner Herbie Walker dies

HAMILTON, Ont. -- Herbie Walker, an owner/operator for more than 40 years and the 12th recipient of the Truck News Owner/Operator of the Year Award, has died. Walker, 66, passed away suddenly on Dec. 28 in Hamilton, according to his family. [Full Story]

A true gentleman

I had the pleasure of not only knowing Herbie but also running down the road with him. In 40 years as an owner operator the man only ever ran 3 trucks. Many may remember his old gray Western Star. She may have not of been the prettiest thing in the parking lot but was in top notch shape.. Here is to you Herbie show them how to truck in heaven good bye my friend you were a true inspiration to all who's lives you touched you will be missed..
