We billed FLS Montreal for a western canada Load today. later on we learned that this load was a CH Robinson load. Does FLS Montreal double broker loads only or do they have their own client base?

FLS has secured their position on the email list of some of the large shippers to get trucks. These large shippers often forget to change the box on the BOL for the carrier name so CHR might've been the previous load's responsibility. The same goes for a bunch of large brokerage houses.

What made you believe it was a CHR load? I find it had to believe that CHR would give their competitor a load to get it covered.

Not in defense of FLS, but we also have accounts that CH works on. Sometimes shippers do forget to change the broker/carrier info on the BOLs for loads we handle. I make sure they change it for our protection. FLS should do the same if it's not a double brokered load.

It becomes a real problem because the carrier name and SCAC in the carrier box is who payment is released to. So it can be a big mess.

When one is the primary lane award from a shipper this doesn't seem to be a problem. But when a shipper does something like a broadcast dispatch to its base to cover a load (usually because primary isn't performing) you end up with multiple players trying to cover the same load. We avoid it whenever we can, needless to say.

Certain shippers are notorious for it.
