I emailed Five Star for their current insurance and what I got was a completely different companies certificate. Does anyone know anything about either of these people?
 
I sold them a load a year or so ago they dispatched for his cousin's truck (that was the story). Cousin's truck hauled the load and rolled it in Brampton. I was never told he was going to dispatch for someone else so I could get proper documentation for that carrier. It was a bit of a nightmare but in the end it all worked out. Previous to this I had hauled freight for him with no issues.
 
If this is the same 5 Star Transport that has been around since the early 2000's, I do recall miserable service from them when I was at Firm. They were put on DNU there because of service failures. I don't think there's another 5 Star around. Ask them how long he's been in business. He appears to only have had his DOT number since 2010 under the Ontario corporation number. There is a Five Star Transport CVOR #120643190 1220 AEROWOOD DRIVE, MISSISSAUGA and 5 Star Trucking with CVOR#169329136 5 STAR TRUCKING INC. 60 CHERRY TREE DR, BRAMPTON. It's the name game! Check which authorities they gave you and I wouldn't be surprised if he says one of those other 5/Five Star companies are cousins either.

Thanks Rob. The issue is he can't supply insurance for FIVE STAR. What he sent was insuance and authorities for a numbered company so obviously brokered; wheter to his cousin or someone else it doesn't matter. It's not them under the load.
 
I have used Five Star Transport for many years without any problems or delays, always excellent work.
 
I too have used Five Star transport for many years with no issues...there are 2 different companies called 5 star so be carefull
