First In Transportation- Orangeville, ON

I am a little shocked. Most companies can not prepay for shipments. To suggest that a carrier can prepay several shipments per day sounds a little off to me.
But even if you could, what happens if the carrier simply takes your money never to be heard from again.? Am I the only one that thinks like this?
It's no different than a broker who promises money and is never heard from again. Somewhere there needs to be some middle ground, and lately, with all the double brokering and shenanigans going on, there is a definite shift in the demand for payment before delivery.

I don't like it one bit - I would like to see the good ol days when someone's word was all that was needed.

You and me both. Remember when we could post in Link, find a truck/freight and the magic happened?

Now it's like a bad Tinder date. Somebody's gonna get f_cked and there may or may not be small talk and dinner first. Sad.

I think there's a risk using a credit card as if you are dealing with an unscrupulous carrier, there are ways to stop a credit card payment.
But credit card rewards are certainly helpful.

Many LTL carriers use credit cards.. makes perfect sense. Orders are for small... sometimes very small amounts. I generally have no trouble booking trucks for big orders... thousands of dollars.. and in the event of my not paying they would have plenty of recourse. Small orders on the other hand.. what if I decide to not pay a little $82.50 order for a couple of boxes shipped? Carrier has very little recourse, and a credit card would make sense.

Credit cards are wonderful. Especially earning the points.
But the carrier loses the credit card fees and one can certainly dispute charges. It's easier than one thinks.

Back to the topic here lol ... First In Transportation, is a direct broker for Taylor Manufacturing out of Orangeville, ON. Correct me if I am wrong?

We never could not get a convincing answer when questioned why First IN and Taylor MFG have the same address.
Taking that into account along with the stigma of Orangeville right now, we passed quite quickly from pulling any loads from them.

We have some bad word of mouth about Taylor MFG but are not going to spread rumors.

Just a few point that I'm sure truckers might want to keep in mind, their payment terms are 60-90, with lots of critical freight that's being offered at regular market rates as if they are moving warehouse to warehouse. Penalties for late deliveries are huge.

Our understanding, they are outsourcing their shipments through FIT to cut cost but lately it has been impacting their performance.
