Anybody here ever heard of a company called Finnerty Equipment out of Cookstown, Ontario??? Apparentley they do flatbed and specialized??

Yes. Nice people, kind of expensive but do good work. Try also Equipment Express and Laidlaw Flatbed division.

Well I have to say, I'm impressed, I guess we get what we pay for after all, it may have cost me a little more but these guys impressed the hell out of me!! That doesn't happen very often anymore. Will be using them again without a doubt.

Well these guys really know their stuff, I very highly recomend them for any OD, stepdeck, high value freight etc. We pull our own decks but these guys made my own guys look a little foolish and lazy, I know, the truth hurts.

Sorry, no offense, but unlike most load brokers and some carriers out there, we don't like shopping around, it's the service not just the price. We prefer to have a very, very limited number of carriers handle our overflow who we can trust to do it without any issues, Finnerty just happens to be one of those few who really impressed us. Again, sorry.
You'll find that with smaller companies such as Finnerty and myself the service and expertise out ways your bigger companies. Remember the old saying you get what you pay for, the price is higher but the satisfaction is greater. It's worth having the freight delivered undamaged least that's my opinion. I don't understand how these companies can move freight for the rates their offering it don't matter if it's van or open deck. I would agree on the service level. We are a small specialized carrier as well, and are particular of whom our customer base is built on. We deal with long term customers that appreciate our knowledge, dedication and committment. I am always looking for new opportunities to develop ongoing relationships with new clients.

I agree with the Finnerty being excellent part. We used them recently for a few shipments and they were a pleasure to deal with.
As for Equipment Express...One hour after they delivered our first shipment with them, their salesman went and dropped a brochure to our customer...a customer who happens to be a personal friend...whoops!
Somehow they think that back soliciting makes a nice first impression to a shipper. Needless to say the shipper laughed them off, we won't use them again and word spreads fast through our industry. Their loss was Finnerty's gain.

Can everyone keep their ears to the ground, we are looking to hire 3-4 more owner/operators, they must have experience as we are very strict on who it is that we hire. Any leads would be appreciated!
