Anyone know a good specialty carrier that handles fine art?
Picking up from NY, NY going to London, ON.
About 10 paintings, will be clearing @ the border (no carnets or bonds etc)

Good Afternoon Shawn I had B4 Logistics that did 2 moves for me 4 years ago out of Long Island City but I don't think there around anymore. If they are around here is the phone number 519-939-2425.
 
Well someone answered "Hello" and then confirmed they were B4 when I asked, but they are not doing that kind of move anymore.

United Van Lines in Mississauga would be my first call. They do a weekly consolidation of ltl from the east coast.

We did several moves several years ago and used Airoute (I believe) and there were no issues at all. I don't know if they still do it or not but worth the call maybe?

Hi Packrat,
The only issue I have with Airoute is they use a beyond or advance carrier for their P&Ds. This kind of cargo is not something I want to be switching carriers.
 
Fine art

I have a driver that did nothing but fine art from show to show for a couple of years, before coming on with us.
He worked for a specialized outfit out of Toronto. The drivers packaged their own freight and were trained to do so , they also ran with specialized trailers with innumerable points of attachment.

This company does nothing but art and has the appropriate insurance.
I will try to dig up his number.
