delivered load for Felter June 22, faxed them their signed POD within 24hours as their contract states, but still screwing us around. They have mailed the cheque 4 different times, I wonder where it goes. 105 days old now for 1800.00. Anyone else having trouble.

Do a search, Felter has been terrible to work for forever. The only way we ever got our money was to go to their office and pick up a cheque.

i just figured out that the address they gave us is a mail boxes etc. mail box. I called the customer their customer. Lorraine from a/p says she not paying me now because that is back solicitation, she better get a dictionary, i didn't solict anything. Nice try though

I always find it strange when a carrier screws around when payment becomes due for a brokered load. As a trucking company they most certainly know the costs involved in this industry. I would report this to Victoria at Loadlink, she is by far the best person at Link to handle non-payment issues. Remember folks, 3 non-payments reported to Loadlink means they get kicked off the system. Loadlink doesnt like to lose customers but they've had enough complaints on this subject from some of us that a few months ago this policy was enforced.

Apparently alot of carriers slow pay their suppliers as well..it isn't necessarily a question about knowing carrier costs..due to the economy some brokers and carriers are having trouble paying their bills in a timely manner. That doesn't make them unknowledgeable or crooked. Nevertheless, all parties...carriers and brokers...should be forthcoming and honest about delays in payment...if you can't pay within stated terms then negotiate alternative terms and arrangements...but don't just pay late...leading people on and not being honest is the worst thing one can do.

Here here now if only we could get them to actually do it is another story. But Felter is not one of them has not been since 98 when I first dealt with them and by the sounds of this still isnt.

Agreement

I agree, with your last statement. Any carrier or broker can go through a rough patch, very often not of his own making. Forcing the carrier off of link may just exascerbate the situation, forcing them to cease operations , leaving them owing a lot of people lots of money.

I have a good friend that survived a bankrupcy of over $500,000.00 recently. Many would have thrown in the towel and gone bankrupt themselves, he chose to continue. He is paying in the 60 to 90 day range now, slower than he should but everyone will get paid!

Whoops.................

Almost gave Felter some freight today. They are nowing calling themselves F.T.C. LTD. Using at UPS Store mailbox address in Waterdown but when I checked their insurance certificate, it showed an address of 211 Roberts Grimsby. Googled it and what pops up at that address......Felter Freight

I made the mistake of giving F.T.C. a load recently. They are very verbally abusive, and demanded payment before delivery. After a lot of insults from them, we had to pay by direct deposit, pick up the freight from them and deliver it to the customer. They were quoting Carrier transportation rules that they are allowed to demand payment before delivery. Maybe that is true but there should be rules against holding the freight for ransom and not telling the customer where it is. I know I will never use Felter or F.T.C. again.

Add the names Frasier Transportation and C J Thomas to that list .. 211 Roberts Rd. Grimsby, ON L3M 4E8 is the mailing address. These guys screw everyone including the owner ops running for them. Scammers, con artists and crooks. Bad news this outfit.

Only ever done two things with Felter... Both were a night mare... both took forever to get paid. Earned them a permanent position on our DNU list.

Yeah they did that to me once. At one time they were actually a pretty decent company and Alfred was actually a pleasure to deal with. That was about 10 years ago. The last time I used them was about 5 years ago, they also demanded payment before they would deliver my load. I paid the ranson, they delivered and then they went right on my DNU list!!!! Not only do they hold your freight ransom but then they go after your customers too!!!!
