Feedback on Trans+Plus Dispatch Software

We went down the road of developing our own TMS system that handles the broker side extremely well. We've shown almost a full payback on R.O.I. It's reduced redundancies, improved inefficiencies and automates a lot of our once manual processes. It took over a year to develop but the nice thing is it's ours, it's open ended web based so we can make any changes we want on the fly. We where also able to integrate other administrative systems into it to increase communication and visibility across all departments. If you want more info on going this route, PM me.

Third party. I have experience myself in project management for this sort of thing years ago also so that helped. We are extremely happy with the work, it's very stable and web based so myself and my staff can work from anywhere if they need to. Also redundant,. backing up on 2 amazon servers and a Microsoft server.

You're lucky in that respect then. You already knew enough to register all of your domains in your own name, take ownership of the source code, purchase all of the proper licenses, patent the resulting product, etc., etc., etc. Not everyone would know that, or would even be able to find the legal assistance to walk them thru it. You got a leg up ... there's a lot of positives to having your own custom software.

Most of that is not actually needed just for in house use however, I have shown some buddies in the industry what we have done and they have been really impressed so I am considering rolling it off into another business and reselling eventually.

Not a bad idea at all ... good luck :)
Thanks! I am also considering that it would bring better value if I had an asset side to it. If any of the carriers this forum are interested, I would entertain the idea perhaps of an agreement where I can build this with your input and once complete, I would license it to you at no fees. If interested in discussing this further, please PM me.

I would like to resurrect this thread to see if there is a solid new alternative software to Trans Plus as I am falling out of love with them.
We are also in same boat!
TMW or Mcleod is your only option at this point.

Road King - which version of Fleetmanager by Transplus are you running?
I’m running their latest version. Everytime they update and fix old issues new one pops up. No new features are being added. Any new feature requests takes about few years before they even look at it.

Road King, the new feature requests which you feel takes to long, are they Qualified standard enhancements? or even the billable ones?

Also, is there any broker here using Fleet (Logistics) Manager, please PM me

Both Qualifield and Billable! They just don’t care.

We use LogisticsManager for our Brokerage division, let me know how can I help you?

We use TransPlus Fleetmanager and have no big issues except when communication with customs goes down. PM me - maybe I have some solutions for your issues.

Jim, for trucking (Fleet Manager) or Brokerage (Logistics Manager)?

Road King, i'll PM you

Might work if you are doing the same shipment over and over but I hate having two databases with the same information. You never keep it straight or you spend too much time doing it well.

1 system 1 entry at the start, if you do it correct the first time it should be the only time you have to do it and it should flow through to billing.
