Well I gave them a load and they dumped back in my lap this a.m.

At least they didn't double broker it.

Be thankful they didn't double broker it. Its unfortunate when the load is given back. We always assume they got better money for another load. But usally the case is No driver or worse the truck broke down or the previous load increased in size. That's why were in this business to solve problems that other people make.

I wish it was easier to search. Couldn't find any information on FTC until typing in "Waterdown" today. Called me on a load, confirmed to me they picked up & then when I call today all of a sudden they can't find my order. I ended up calling the shipper and found out it wasn't even picked up, definitely DNU.

This is what they gave us

20-255 dundas Street East

Plenty of threads on these clowns. They will hijack your load and then demand payment before delivering or they will charge $400 per day for storage.

I have no idea how they stay in business because nobody ever uses them twice.

FTC, Felter etc. All the same company.

I'm surprised no one noticed the previous threads about FTC/Felter. They even have been advertising for a while in Truck News, looking for drivers and owner-operators. Can you imagine a driver quitting a job at a good carrier to go work for FTC, not knowing what we know? It's a wonder Truck News isn't aware.

Unbeleivably

Unfortunately,

FTC or Felter or whatever, has some very large clients at his disposal, he came into one of ours and had slashed the rates about 2 years ago.

His equipment is generally in deplorable condition, and from what I have seen, seems to run mostly owner ops.
I do not think he is going away in the near future!!!

Just an update

I wish I had done a search here about 10 days ago I would have had a much less stressful week, suffice it to say, nothing has changed!

What do you mean by nothing has changed?? What has happened again with them?? Did they ask for ransom for the delivery? What can we do if this happened??

Can the police help???

Thanks!

No ransom requests, just a lot of B.S., I should have known better, always go with your gut, it took 2 days for them to make a p/u with their truck being about 30 miles away and 2 days to make the delivery with truck in the city, it's just frustrating knowing that you are being lied to, i really didn't get the feeling at any point that the freight was missing, i just wanted the truth as to where it was so that I could keep the customer in the loop.

That is sad. I think it's remarkable that with CSA and all this new enforcement that nobody has walked in there and did a facility audit.

Their CVOR shows "conditional":

F.T.C. LTD. 211 ROBERTS RD,GRIMSBY , ON

CVOR or RIN # Carrier Registered/Operating as Names
136089304 F.T.C. LTD. FOR HIRE CONDITIONAL

Getting these cats under control is as easy as a call to the MTO and speak to the carrier enforcement people responsible for that area. Request to have them go do an audit and they'll gladly camp out for a few days. Most audits are triggered by meeting a threshold level of unsatisfactory inspections but can be requested by anyone concerned for safety. For example, if you know a carrier is doing something illegal, you can have them flagged for an inspection before they get to a threshold that triggers an audit. If they're in conditional status, that friendly visit will kill them and it should be known that if they have multiple companies, that audit is linked to the CVOR of the other entities. Ergo, they are screwed.
