I understand I'm not the only one who sees a large spike in business during the last week of the month...

For those who've had a challenging week (everyone I assume) , martini's are on me...

Happy Friday.

Here's my theory..

So many shippers let their freight sit hoping for some low price they paid during the recession will come back again, then, month end hits and their sales manager says... "Ship that stuff, I don't care what it costs, we need to hit our numbers" then they pay twice as much as they could have moved it for in the middle of the month!

I don't think it's quite that simple, but especially if you deal with companies that are publicly traded, if they aren't meeting sales targets they'll blow stuff out at the end of the month to build them up ... and yup, they end up paying for it for sure.

I agree with Pablo....so many companies need to make their monthly numbers to comply with their bank's (financier's) terms - that is EXACTLY what is going on. Carriers do it too. How many do you know that are putting yesterday's and today's invoices on May's revenue? Just my opinion.
