very few do not have them now as they have been mandated for years. Only 99 or older does not require and while still lots of old iron out there not a lot from Canada. As far a TT if you are not set up save yourself a pile of idiocy and just pass on their crap.I heard Traffic Tech is making it mandatory for anyone they use to have proof of ELDs before giving a load.
Way of the future?
Cannot onboard Highway here. We have an answering systems as well as a server on our computers. They told us we will have to remove all systems to get set up with them or have bell Canada give us back a phone number we have not had since like 2002 so they can call us on that number and that number only as it is one we had when Dad got the running rights in 1997., So far has maybe cost me one load that was worth it. Good luck setting guys up with it.It's a pretty standard requirement now a days to be fair.
We've implemented Highway and that is one of the requirements to get onboarded. We can override it if needed, @EricG situation for example.
Also we do a fair bit of expedite, straight truck work in the states and a far amount of those guys don't have proper ELD's.
