East & West Transport/Group East & West

I can see some brokers have had issues with Group East West. I use them often and never had issues not saying one may come up but none for now. Brokers seem to think that running a transport business with trucks, drivers, roads or weather always runs smooth. This why Brokers are to afraid of actually owning a transport company because they couldn't handle all the variables that go along in running a real transport company. As a broker / carrier I know the frustations of running both styles of business and running a carrier style of business is no picnic. Brokers should remember that before verble bashing a transport company.

That is all fine and dandy but if you are giving East West freight from the US it is being double brokerd back to Mississauga at which time it goes either on the train or maybe (and I say maybe because I have never seen an east west trailer) one of their trucks. But hey if that is cool with you it is your freight. I have done work for them in the past but never again I cannot wait that long for you to pay them so they can pay me!!

Needtoknow... Take from this site what you will and use the information accordingly. They're a snake... so if you're going to play with a snake that you know is a snake. Don't get mad when that snake bites you.

These days there are so many choices to get LTL to western Canada.

Consider yourself very fortunate that you haven't been burned yet.

We got bit twice by the snake, gave the load to east west who then double brokered it to Kingston to bring it back to Toronto. Needless to say we had to pay the third carrier (that Kingston sold it too) cash and pick the load from their dock and hot foot it to Calgary and pay a fine for being late.........I think that is 4 bites of the snake actually.

How on earth is it possible for East & West to have a score of 78 on the Paydex scale and 6.62 Ram score?

Anyone not knowing of them would be quick to do work with them based on that.

Just proves that you can't trust Load Link reports for accuracy.

Johnny never came back to work after the weekend and is said to be gone for good does anyone know anything?

East West Refrigerated are not the same as East West Transport, but stay away from East West Refrigerated, double brokered one of my loads, got quick pay and is now not paying the carrier that did the job. Spoke with Ken there and he was very rude, saying that it does not matter whether he got paid or not, he was not paying the other carrier until they provided original POD and WSIB, which I get it you need these things, but even after arranging for the documents to be dropped at his office today he is still not willing to pay and is getting his lawyer involved and from what I have found out my load is not the only one, there are several other carries looking for Money from this guy.

I actually know someone that has worked for this company, and she says that East West does not have trucks that are in driving conditions. Their lot has broken down trucks and trailers that have not moved in years. I have been informed that this company puts Everything on RAIL. Why do brokers still give them loads when we all know that they rail everything? They have cross dock locations in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver B.C. None of the FTL's ever go direct. They are still railing and handling the freight more than needed. Double stacking and breaking down skids. NOT COOL I think.
