We are tentatively doing a load for Eagle Freight Services out of Louisville Ky to their dock in Brampton, In order for us to do their load we must use their Pars to clear the shipment which makes me believe that they are double brokering this shipment as they want to show that the load cleared on their Pars, If anybody reading this post feels this is your load , Please e mail me dave@careyleasingltd.com

They don't have US DOT broker authority, according to the Safer website. They seem to have current common carrier authority. Their website is rather poorly written (not that it's a determination of service levels). It was my understanding that the carrier presenting the goods for entry into Canada had to be the same carrier as on the Pars. Seems to have a bit of a bad smell though.
 
I've done loads for Heart/ITN and used their PARS with a letter as Rob says.
 
Thanks Ianquebec, I am glad we found out before we moved the load that indeed Eagle Freight Services was double brokering the shipment, Man I love this site just for this very reason, Rob that is correct you can use another carriers PARS as long as you have a letter of authorization, Have a great day and thanks for all responses

If you have the time, go to their website and read it over. We should have a "pool" to see who can guess the total number of spelling and grammatical mistakes. Not trying to sound like an old school teacher, but come on, what kind of image are you presenting when no one bothers to proof read your own website!
 
As per my observation, most of these carriers got running as a single owner/operator. They are too busy running day to day and not really planning.

Most of them have trouble keeping good safety/compliance, accurate book-keeping, accident records, etc.. I can go on and on. A proper web-site is not even on the radar.
 
The website hurt my brain. It was like reading a literal translation from another language to English. Ugh.
 
OH OH, I was off yesterday and was just catching up on the posts when my co-worker said we took a load on Tuesday for Eagle Freight Systems. It was out of Janesville, WI going to Eagle Freight Systems dock for the Lil Potato Company whose accounting office is in Edmonton. Seems strange that we would pick up a load in WI to go to AB via Toronto!!!!!
 
Strange that a licensed carrier would have so much "extra" freight to sell off. As we all know however, according to Link Logistics, on any given day the majority of the available freight posted, is posted by carriers, not brokers. You'd think that if most of their business was brokering, they'd go to the trouble of registering themselves as a broker. Perhaps they find that their sales pitch as a carrier is more successful, even though the shipments given to them look like they'll be sold off to other carriers. You're right about the truck pictures Rob. If you had some nice shiny iron of your own, wouldn't you want to display it proudly on your website?

Wow , quite a website, I have seen some their equipment and it sure does not look like the equipment on their website that's for sure, As Rob says looks like they have scammed the truck pictures from Large Car Mag, Once they lost the load that they double brokered to us and that they were cut off from the freight broker owning the load, The guy from Eagle Freight called and ripped our female dispatcher for 5 minutes calling her every foul word available in his vocabulary in his language and English , he tried to bite the wrong persons head off as she gave it back both barrels and he finally hung up after telling us we will be hearing from his lawyer about damaging his business and loss of revenue , Still waiting and no lawyer calls yet. You gotta love it . These scammers never cease to amaze me.

I guess in his mind, doing any sort of due diligence about his firm, and then telling others in this industry what you found, can be construed as "damaging his business". Based on what we have seen and heard, there is certainly no need to fabricate anything, the evidence speaks volumes on it's own.
 
I am wondering if my next step would be to call the buyer or receiver in Edmonton??? I would really like to get paid!!! Maybe ask them who they assigned to the load?? I do not like to go behind another carriers back but when they have been double brokering freight I think I have that right.
