Drpped trailer damage in receiver's yard

I have this situation. We dropped the trailer at receiver Canadian Freightways in Burnaby, BC ( big yard) they unloaded and move trailer to lot and told us that trailer is ready for pick up. my driver went and noticed big hole in the side wall ( hit from out side). person in the office said he will talk to manager( gave his name, card etc.) and call or email us next day. never did. took few days to get hold of OP. MGR. who is denying that trailer got damaged in their yard or have any report by their driver that they damaged. ask to go to yard owner since they are leasing space there. yard owners and this receiver is denying to give any information regards to their insurance companies. What would you guys do in this situation. damage is about $1500 and deductible is $1000. This is the second time they damaged the trailer in two months but we do study runs 2-3 times a week.
Any out put would be appreciated.

In a nutshell, whoever stipulated the trailer drop requirement is responsible for the damage. Who knows who hit the trailer in a crowded yard that is used by several carriers. Hopefully you have an agreement with your customer detailing who is responsible for damage to unattended trailers that have been dropped at the customer's request.

Are there any surveillance cameras that might show what happened?
 
Usually if customer getting damaged trailer they run to the phone to notify you about that, so it won't be there's responsibility. Plus any possible damage to freight.
In your case it didn't happened. I don't know how but they have to admit.
May be start asking your driver's make pictures before drop.?
 
Notify your customer that due to this repetitive problem, your driver will conduct a trailer inspection with the receiver when the trailer is dropped and will be signed by both driver and receiver - each one gets their copy and thats it. Have the same type of system in place that the trailer rental companies employ to protect themselves.

Thanks every body for your input. We do go through inspection but their fight is that they don't know or none of their driver reported them damaging the trailer, they can't take responsibility. basically it is hit and run or some one ( driver, management) does not want to take responsibility. then property liability kicks in but they don't want to provide their liability policy or company name. what you would do in this situation?
 
Yes, that's what I am planning to do but last year we switch to private insurance and had a claim which some one rear ended our trailer and we had to fix it and push our insurance company to return our deductible. took six month to get that. even though they had other party's information and this time is bit different. so that's why little hesitant to go to them.
 
If B.C. insurance law is anything like Ontario it will be considered a "no fault" claim if it happened on private property. In other words it is your problem and your only recourse will be to recover damages from either the yard owner, CF, or your customer. The only way to stop it from happening again will be as Micmac said and do inspections when dropping and picking up, pictures are best.
