DRIVER ASSIST UNLOADING IN THE US

Question for all....can a Canadian based driver assist with offloading in the US or does it also fall under the cabotage rule?

Not positive about the legalities, even though he is taking work away from an American. The bigger problem is what happens if he is injured while preforming the work.

We pay a lumper even if the driver wants to do it, not worth the risk and just bill back the customer. Our drivers are paid to drive not unload.
