Drink of the Day

We have the local packing house Norpac and they still do custom and that is where my buddy gets his done. Norpac beef is awesome as well usually Bruce or Oxford county raised on Norpac's own feed system. Yum Yum.
ufff One Balkan guy that I knew would smoke meat in his shed at his house. He made a good business out of it until the neighbour called the cops one day beacuse the smoke from the shed chimney was getting overbearing lol

You think I'm joking, don't you? :)
Life is literally 30 or 40 years behind the hustle and bustle of the big cities in small cities. This is my stash currently. If you're a whisky drinker, I strongly suggest the bottle on the front left. If you like scotch, I'm out of stock right now but Highland Park all the way.
We usually only do Fridays around 4:00 if Bill goes home early, if he's here we all work to 4:30, then he tells me to open the bar and I happily oblige,

Keep well, keep hydrated!
Mike
That's a fine gin choice. Just sayin :)

Tell me everyone is having steak tonight. I sure will be pushing for that! I'm salivating...

Keep well,
Mike
Smash-burgers at our house. The weather here is still amazing so there will be some red wine and burgers on the patio. I'm a very lucky gal - hubby likes to cook. Last night he made short-rib french onion soup. There are some great local farms that sell out of the farmers market and we try to support them. We opted for smaller portions, better quality.

done - will you have a truck in Winnipeg with a cooler - I can meet and hand over a 'baggie' - my trucks usually go MB-US-ON/AB ... so cannot send over the border
Deal! I prefer to avoid the "baggie" / "suitcase" / "rubbermaid totes" type of handoffs in the vicinity of a 53' trailers and airports, I prefer my secondary inspection is done by my doctor once a year, and not customs everytime i travel to the USA.

We will figure something out, prob cheaper to use my Air Canada acct. with some dry ice, I'll do some checking this week.

What's your preferred cut?

anything will do - esp if it is local :) So we pack ours in ziplock bags and in the freezer - have some from last year's hunt ... so let me know .. this year hunting season hasn't started yet

Y'all living like kings, I'm eating tube steak in this current freight market, although they are a premium dog, does not get any better than Nathan's

Nice!!!! Surf and turf at the Lakehead!
Kerry and I find that more and more family and friends are taking long weekends to come visit, especially considering the price of airfare via Flair. We have room, an extra car and love to cook/host. Most of the comments we get are how we can get anywhere in 15 minutes or less, the air is noticeably cleaner and it's light here later at night (we're on the edge of the time zone).
That particular meal was 2 weeks ago when we had a couple come visit. Cost a quarter of what it would be to go out and cooked just the way we wanted. We try and offer a 5 star experience up in T-Bay.

Keep well,
Mike

I haven't been up there since my daughter's U16 provincials for skiing just before Covid.
I was absolutely amazed by the culinary experience in Thunder Bay. We were there for five nights and went to a different restaurant every night; all five were amazing and unique.

So your next gig could be that of “Inn Keeper”? Do we see a new Air B&B starting up in T. Bay. Not a bad side hussle as long as you can choose your guests!

It's funny you say that. For now, family and friends because we want to see them and it's economical for people to come here and stay with us rather than us travel and hotel, car rental, etc. elsewhere.
Kerry has a family camp (cottage) on a couple acres with a total of 5 chalets on it. Ya never know what the cards hold. Would be a great semi retirement gig once all the elders no longer want to go there and handle all the maintenance. Summers overseeing the property as a destination, free for family of course (it's 30 mins from the airport and on a lake), winters we haven't decided yet.. Portugal, Italy, Panama, Costa Rica? Used to be Arizona, but we're not really interested in that currently.
I'll keep you posted loaders and you are more than welcome to join us at any of the above for a visit.

Keep well,
Mike

So,
I tried the vodka I took in this pic. Please don't ever do that. Straight or mixed. It was really, really bad. I'm probably going to pour it out and just get a belvedere in place.

Keep well,
Mike

We save that whiskey here for the deals over $1 mil, partly because I'm the bartender and buy most of the booze myself, partly because while I like my colleagues, I don't like them as much as $170/bottle every week...

Keep well,
Mike
