Just hung up from a Landstar agent who informed me they do not double broker BUT if it is Canadian freight it is okay to use Traffic Teck Is that not double brokering Explain to a country boy please

My understanding of a Landstar agent is that while Lanstar encourage them to use Landstar available equipment whenever possible, they are free to broker freight to anyone.

Probably the Landstar agent has been sweet-talked by Traffic Tech to "co-broker" shipments and let Traffic Tech do all that hard work of posting loads on Link and answering responding calls from carriers.

When landstar lets someone double broker, there is usually a kick back to the agent under his other company name, as landstar has max of 20% brokerage fee. This way the landstar agent can get more commision. Had the same problem with the agent out of Minni, loads would be posted on landstar board, called on them, advised gone, then frenchy posts same load, called agent back, even went to jacksonville to report, but nobody cared.
Lots of luck with this.

you aren't a country boy - you're a guy with a brain and good common sense... double broker implies a load broker gave the load to a load broker to give to a carrier. anyone who can't figure that one out is a moron. the load broker is being paid to find a carrier to haul his customers freight - not to find another load broker to do his job for him.... and in doing so cut the rate to the carrier and we wonder why we can't get the rates up to meet the expenses these days....

Jac are you implying country boys don't have a brain or common sense?

lol.

at 10% for each broker that's more profit that the carrier who did the work makes... and the carrier is holding the big bills to do the job. so it doesn't matter if they took 3% or 10% for the 2nd broker it cuts into the rate to the carrier and some of these double brokering "scams" result in non payment, lenthly payment and just overall crap rates to the carrier. It should never never never happen.

since you don't know where i live i will forgive that giggle - i look at dairy cattle out back all day long... and i know the smell of a barn and rank smell of liq. fertalizer and i can honestly say i've shot a gun, milked a cow and rode a horse ... just got high speed but have had indoor toilets for some time...lol

Ah, okay, i almost thought I was being insulted by a city boy for a second there. Or a "city-it" as we call them.
