Here are two of my bad experiences with this company.:mad:

Please keep in mind that these are only two of the numerous bad experiences with this company.

1: We had booked 5 skids going US bound, running frozen. Driver shows up per the scheduled appointment at 9:00 AM. He was kept being told just wait a few more minutes, just wait a few more minutes by the shipper, as trucks were backing in to the loading doors, loading and leaving. At 1:00 PM he was told to go in a loading door and waited patiently. At 3:00 PM was told the freight was not going and to leave and get out of the loading door. Called and talked to the dispatcher (I'll leave her name out of there since she no longer works for Concord Freight and she was really nice) who told me she cannot pay for a miss pick and just talk to the owner. Talked with the owner who said he cannot pay for a miss pick but he will make it up the next time.

2: We had booked 9 skids going US bound, running frozen. Driver shows up per the scheduled appointment at 6:00 PM on Friday. He waited and waited and waited and finally at 2 AM he was loaded with 5 skids not 9 skids and was told by the shipper that that is all for this order. Called the next business day and talked to the dispatcher to see what had happen since we had a 6:00 PM appointment. She said you know us here and we don't pay for waiting time and we will only pay you for 5 skids not 9 skids. I asked her what I should have done with the empty space on my trailer on a Saturday when my truck was scheduled to depart by Noon. I again talked with the owner who said he cannot pay for the extra space they booked but not used but again he will make it up the next time.

The next time was to 5 Skids to Texas running frozen for $90 CDN per skid (5 SK X $90 / SK = $450). Maybe the owner meant to say he would make it down to us the next time.

This was the end of our working relationship.

Yes please be fair and specific. State your case and allow other participants to share theirs and then the rest of us can make our minds up what to do when Donut Time comes calling.
Ciao:cool:

Awful company - afaik owned by partners who like to play "good cop bad cop". No-one is ever available in their office, can't get anyone on the phone, the front door is always locked and there's nobody home.
People who have decision making ability are always in a meeting.

They still owe us approx. 5k. that they deny they actually owe.
We first dealt with them as Concord Freight - then got switched over to billing Donut Time. Same company, essentially, same people that we're dealing with. Forward ahead some time, they screw up the payables in the switch up. One invoice gets lost. They are denying that they did anything wrong, it must have been us, and that Donut Time does not pay Concord Freight's invoices (I have cheque copies that prove otherwise).

There's a load that went to Quebec, then less than a week later their dispatch contacts us and wants to send the 2nd portion of the same PO - it's sent as a FTL and billed as such. They now refuse to pay because we "double billed" it because it's the same PO. It doesn't matter to them that it is two different drivers with deliveries on two different days.

They ship frozen product. They once loaded warm, out of the oven product in one of our reefers and used it as a freezer over a weekend - driver was surprised that the reefer was completely out of fuel when he picked it up Monday. It was dropped off on Friday with a full tank.

If you use them, beware. It was always a struggle to get paid from them, invoices were always sitting at 30-60 days overdue (that's 60-90 days).

They have called us a few times asking us to quote on their freight. Specifically, loads to Alberta where we drop a reefer on the Friday for pu on Monday and go. There was something about them that I didn't like so I didn't pursue it.

@MyTrucksMyRates
A) Because the forum is called "Good & Bad Shippers/Receivers
B) Compared to the rest of the posts, apparently you are/were lucky. Shows good business acumen. Thank you for sharing your experience.

@coldshipper ... Looked pretty fair to me. Was definitely specific.

@Inbound Specialist ... I have to ask ... after 1 & 2, why was there a third time?
