This is a post that certainly belongs under the "Coffee Shop" thread...and it's a nice one.
For those in need of a lovely dessert - a quick "pickup" hostess gift or a unique party contribution - this newly opened cupcake shop is worth the stop...
Cristina's Tortina Shop - located near Hwy#10 and Ray Lawson (easy access of the 407) has wonderful desserts. And there is a nice story behind its grand opening today.
Mary (owner) opened this shop with another family member - to provide a work environment for children with Down Syndrome and special needs. It's simply a "feel good" place and a positive environment for those with needs to flourish. It really takes a special kind of person to helm a new business of this nature - and a strong belief in what can be accomplished.
Please keep it in mind if you are in the area....or passing by. I'll be making a trip out there this weekend to pickup some goodies for a family party.
