CTA has sent letters to one of our shipper regarding the new labour code and they in turn have come to us for more information about how this will impact them. Please excuse my ignorance as I am not up to date on these changes however, we are coming up on September 1st and I ask, will these changes have a great impact on business or little impact? in the article Stephen states "“This change will have a significant negative impact on the entire Canadian economy as the modern supply chain continuously relies on the flexibility of the trucking industry".

Morning, crosgre!
Please read the comments following this article.
Supply chain may be not affected directly, because warehouse stuff works by shifts anyway, in most.
But, indirectly, to accommodate trucking companies on a last minute changes en route...

If we do not get an exemption in the trucking business it can be very damaging if you don't give your drivers proper notice that they have to work longer on a certain day they can refuse to work late or you need to change their start time for the next day and their is nothing you can do about it. With that being said I think a good number of drivers would not be an issue but imagine if even 10 percent held you to the new rules it wold be devastating. Thank the Liberals for 1 more rule that f*cks with business, who needs unions.
