creative ways to get rid of telemarketers

Our kids generation will likely never entertain the idea of having a land line. It makes no sense to them. Quite frankly, they are right.

Apparently the only downside to not having a land line is that 911 can't find you quite as fast if you're using a cell phone. But, according to the NCIS shows my wife watches, Johnny-Law can track you down pretty quick if they want to ... LOL

Funny thing is they haven't called back since I posted this thread!

I shouldn't post this........but I will anyway. I have a good friend in Ohio that solved telemarketers years ago. (Now here is the nasty part). No matter who calls him, male or female, he acts as if they are on a phone sex line and he is reaping the benefit. He tells me it doesn't take very long for the caller to hang up in disgust, and he never gets a return call. :)

I do a lot of telemarketing to get business, but its all business to business, so I don't feel bad about it. If someone's offended by it I remember that I became a millionaire by making these calls by the time I was 40 years old, and these schmucks who are rude or indifferent to my lowly telemarketing pitch are probably living paycheck to paycheck.

Business to business is totally different. I have no issues receiving those types of calls.
I'm talking about the people who call me at home at all hours of the day and night, weekday or weekend. Duct cleaning, people pretending they work for Bell or Rogers but are unable to give you the account information or the name of the person they are looking for; fraudsters claiming that you have won a lottery in some african country and they need your bank info so they can send you the money right away; the automated calls informing you that you have just won a cruise and you must attend a "meeting" to claim your prize; "survey" companies, etc, etc, etc. The list never ends....
Luckily no one has called lately - fingers crossed!
