What a headache we ship 2 to 3 loads of LTL a day to the west nothing but problems at the moment.
I know Ralph and that is what he is saying. He is a big proponent that there is no driver shortage it is all pay related and carriers cannot get drivers because we do not pay drivers enough. I just wonder what is enough as the one's paying by the hour are looking, private fleets that pay better rates locally are looking mega carriers are looking as well as every other guy that owns a truck? Not to take sides, but just to share..
Ralphthetracker ment that he CAN NOT buy that pick up for that much money, same as some carriers CAN NOT get the drivers for money they offering...
IMHO..
It's the young people nowadays, they don't want to live in a truck, they want to be home after their eight hours and out with their friends. They won't put up with the bullshit from shippers, receivers, the scales and everyone else like us older guys used to do.My understanding it's not only a pay level, but a whole package including shifts or schedule, equipment, communication and recognition from ALL levels of management, shippers, receivers, and general public, locations of the company and customers and even commodity comes to play for some.
I think I covered all, eh...
