does anyone have any experience working with this company ? they are looking at taking a reefer load out west for me near the end of the week. Their references check out, but docs show 1 truck and their office # is showing Out of service.

I see Continental Carriers listed under FMCSA but their authorities were dismissed suggesting that they did not meet the requirements to obtain them.

Yes, FMCSA authorities are required for travel in the US and have no bearing on intra-Canada travel. In fact if your USDOT is inactive your ACE manifest will fail.

I look at the FMCSA website because it's easy to get a lot of public information quickly about the carrier (address, phone number etc). In this case, if they had applied for US authorities and were unable to fulfill the requirements or choose not to then that may sway your decision to use them. It definitely tells me that it is a fairly new company.
