My rant for the day,
I just have to ask because I am completely dumbfounded about all the postings on this website about shite carriers. With all the really good, long-standing carriers out there why do I continue to hear about getting scammed by individuals who fraudulently represent themselves as a carrier, carriers who take freight only to re-broker it and others who just go dark and will not respond while under someone's load?
I just get completely frustrated to hear that so many brokers get burned by this nefarious behaviour and, whilst I read between the lines, it seems like these are brokers picking the lowest freight option available. They choose to use a completely new carrier (to them) likely because of the available option of making more margin on their load that they low-balled to get the freight. They rush the onboarding process, do not check simple things like phone numbers and email addresses, then they pay the price.
I still find it real hard to find loads in the areas that I'm in - especially northbound freight. All the brokers we call seem to have everything covered or there is nothing available; understandably there are more trucks than freight out there. As a long-standing carrier, in business for decades(not mere months), I'm lucky to have long lasting relationships with some really great brokers who use us regularly.
When will these brokers learn that the cheapest freight carrier is likely going to cost them way more in the end? When will they learn that a company that was around for years is a much better bet at success?
....
BTW @loaders , I know, I know, not all brokers are like that.
