Check Calls! Is it time to charge for check calls?

Nothing personal, just want to make sure I do not give you anymore freight since I am a broker and I see how you feel about brokers. Funny you mentioned most of your freight you get is direct from customers, but you have 29 truck postings on the link. Last time I checked 98 percent of companies that have freight on the link are brokers not shippers.

If you did not need brokers then why post your trucks?

Who said I don't use brokers? If you read comments properly I said they are "Necessary Evils" and I do use them. I wish I had other options.
Over the years brokers have ruined trucking industry. Now you will see 100 brokers banging same customer's door and funny thing is their rates are 20% lower than mine. Feel sorry for the carriers who will haul that freight for 25 to 30% less (Brokers also need to cover their overhead costs and pay their people who are wasting everybody's time with those unnecessary check calls)
So what brokers are doing is dropping rates and slimming the margins.

I request you guys not to do any personal attacks. This is a discussion forum and we are discussing an issue here.

No personal attack what so ever. I am just stating the obvious. Carriers need Broker and Brokers Need Carriers. We all need each other. We complete one another :)
 
Ladies and gentlemen, PLEASE! I thought this site had matured enough so that we didn't need to keep reading, "brokers....bad, carriers....good" anymore. If you don't like brokers the answer is simple, don't use them, get off your tush and go out and drum-up more of your own customers. If that sounds like too much trouble, then form a mutually beneficial relationship with one or two of the many good brokers out there and pocket the money you just saved in sales expenses.

Closing off threads seems to be happening more frequently...

A few members seem to enjoy throwing gas on the fire at times...please watch your tone and don't turn things into personal attacks. This again is another topic gone way off tangent. And it's too bad - other members lose out that could have received and/or posted valuable information for others...

If I see the same members going down this track - you will receive infractions and bans for 7+ days from the site.
