I agree with you Rob. Challenger has still kept their name front and centre on all publicity opportunities but has never mentioned the fact that Don Anderson and Mammoet have been brought in to "bail" them out (as directed by the end user). I cannot see how this can be seen as anything other than a massive "service failure" on Challenger's end.
To put it simply, their method of transporting these tanks (schnauble towers) failed and the tanks began to buckle after they were loaded. So the customer had no choice but to go back to the carrier that had brought in similar sized units for them in the past, damage free (Don Anderson Haulage).

Rob, I am certainly not trying to defend Challenger, and crackers, I do not have the "inside" knowledge about "service failures" that you do. If indeed there has been a problem with the type of trailers originally proposed, then at least Challenger had the sense to contact people that could assist them and correct the problem. Those of you that have been a party to moves like this (most likely smaller however) know that there is a multitude of things that can go wrong or change while enroute regardless of the amount of planning. It's your ability to react to them that counts. As for Challenger being front and centre in press releases, that's their decision. Something like this does'nt fly under the radar of the press for very long anyway. My original point to this was merely to draw attention to the fact that whoever was hauling it was smart enough to include every possible source of help available and that cooperation was the key.

All done, well done! Oversize permits in any of the municipalities entered require the carrier to provide, amongst other things, CVOR and insurance information; which Challenger has. Mammoet has globally recognized expertise in mammoth moves, not that this diminishes Challengers experience with oversize/overweight however Mammoet has moved numerous Ziemann tanks which for me seals the deal. Between the two it made perfect BUSINESS sense.
