CFIA scheduled outage for weekend 27-29 Oct

Good afternoon, I wanted to ensure that you are aware of the planned CFIA outage notice for this coming weekend. This will be extremely disruptive for supply chains.



Please ensure your transportation team is aware that this may cause release delays over the weekend for drivers/carriers.



Note that this outage is scheduled to begin on Friday at 3pm and end on Monday October 30th at 7:00am so the entire weekend.

If clear you should have no issues but thinking there is going to be a lot of produce sitting at the bridge Monday morning.
Just another example of how the civil servants who are responsible to legislate and administer our supply chain really dont understand the real implications of their blindfolded throwing of darts at a dartboard at the other end of the building.

Just got the notice from Canada Customs. It starts Saturday.

As a result, the following electronic CFIA services will be unavailable from October 28 , 2023 3:00 pm to October 30, 2023 7:00 am (ET):
